Matali Crasset
, Matali Crasset ProductionsMatali Crasset was born in 1965 in France. Crasset studied marketing and industrial design at Les Ateliers, Ecole nationale supérieure de création industrielle in Paris. After graduating in 1991, she worked for the designer Denis Santachiara in Milan. In 1993, she returned to Paris to work for the designer Philippe Starck.
Crasset opened her own studio in Paris in 1998, and she founded the company, Matali Crasset Productions, in 2002. She designs exhibits, interiors, furniture, public, and technological products for clients, including Artemide, Cristal Saint Louis, Danese, Domestic, Domodinamica, Dornbracht, Dune, Exquisite Design, Hermès, Le Printemps, Lexon, L'Oréal, Orangina, Swarosvki, and Thomson Multimedia.
Crasset’s work has been shown in museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Art Museum of China in Beijing, mudac in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and Le Grand Hornu in Belgium. Awards include the 1997 Grand Prize for Design from the city of Paris, and the British 2004 Interior Design Award for “International Interior Designer of the Year.”
